Level Up! Is a classroom game where you complete challenges to earn experience points, or XP. Your XP determines your level and prizing status. The game is simple: do the challenges, get the XP, win prizes! Because completing the challenges shows an increased effort in course content, your XP level will also be linked to your Citizenship grade. Don't want to play? You can still get a "Satisfactory" for maintaining a C or higher in class.
How do I earn XP? Everyone earns 5 daily XP for the following items: On time to class, has iPad, has apps cleared, has notebook, has pen.
Students are also eligible for additional XP by holding a classroom job for 4 weeks. The job board and job descriptions are posted in the classroom under the flag.
Everyone is also eligible for XP by: Assignments turned in on time = 10XP Participation in class discussion/lecture = 5XP Demonstrating one or more of the 6 P's = 5XP Helping out in the classroom = 5-20XP depending on the task Additional XP Challenges can be found on your Schoology course in the "Level Up!" folder. XP is assigned, awarded, and tracked on Schoology.
What do I get for playing? The Reward Board is the same for all classes. A High Score Reward is given to the student with the highest score across Mrs. Snyder's blocks 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the end of each trimester AND at the end of the school year. Student scores are posted on a Leader Board for each class and a Top 5 Board for the combined classes.
When does my score update? When do I move up on the Leader Board? Leader Boards are only viewable through SCHOOLOGY. The links will be in the "Level Up!" Folder.
Your XP is rewarded in Schoology as Mrs. Snyder receives it. Your Schoology in XP can only be seen by you and your parent (if they are linked in to Schoology). ***The Leader Board is updated on Monday mornings ONLY.*** Do NOT ask Mrs. Snyder to update the Leader Board at any time.
Can I LOSE XP at any time? YES. The following actions will cause you to lose XP: Horseplay or Misconduct in the lab = -10 XP Harassing another student over any topic = -10 XP Cheating or Plagiarism = Loss of 50% of XP
Thank you, Ms. Baker (@msbaker62) for all of your help and inspiration with this game! I would not have been able to put this together without your help, guidance, and friendship.
